Tribute from Henry Coulter

Edward Dugan – Henry Coulter Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen my name is Henry Coulter. The name will mean nothing to many of you, but for over sixty years it has been my privilege and good fortune to have had as my closest friend Edward Dugan, the man who, today you are saying farewell to. Edward and I grew up together in a small sleepy town in the Mourne Mountains, where after seventeen years, life sent us on our separate ways. Edward remained in Rathfriland where he became the main pillar and support for his family and was to run the family business, Watson’s, for many years as well as caring for his mother and aunties throughout their lives. We remained friends and kept in touch whichever part of the world I was in. When my mother grew elderly and became ill, Edward was a regular visitor keeping an eye on her and keeping me up to date. This was a man who spent his life caring for others, so you can imagine how delighted my wife and I were when we heard that Edward had met someone to care for him and become his loving wife, Leah. The rest of the story you will know, so I now must say farewell to my dearest friend EDWARD DUGAN. God go with you Edward and thank you for being such a big part of my life. Your old friend Henry
